About the firm
Veritas Safety & Health Consulting was founded on a simple premise: organizations deserve safety consulting that goes beyond compliance checkboxes — and builds systems that actually work.
Most safety consulting stops at policy writing and regulatory checklists. We saw a gap between what organizations were being sold and what they actually needed — complete, operational safety management systems designed for the complexity of real workplaces.
Veritas Safety & Health Consulting was built to fill that gap. With over 20 years of hands-on experience across construction, transportation, manufacturing, warehousing, and other high-risk industries, we design and implement the kind of safety infrastructure that protects workers, satisfies regulators, and holds up under scrutiny.
From proprietary assessment frameworks like our Safety & Culture Maturity Assessment (SCMA) and Enterprise Safety Effectiveness Assessment (ESEA), to AI-enabled incident management systems and expert witness services — every service we offer is grounded in field experience, not theory.
The science of safety
The safety profession has increasingly moved toward written programs, compliance documentation, and checkbox audits as the primary measure of organizational safety. The research tells a different story. Incident prevention is rooted in human factors, behavioral science, organizational psychology, and the application of specialized tools designed to address risk at its source.
Our consulting philosophy is built on that foundation. We draw on the science of safety — not just regulatory standards — to design programs that change behavior, reduce exposure, and build cultures where safety is genuinely embedded in how work gets done. Policy is a starting point, not a destination.
Human Factors & Behavioral Science
Understanding why people make decisions in high-risk environments — and designing systems that account for it.
Research-Backed Methodologies
Every framework and tool we apply is grounded in peer-reviewed safety science, not industry convention.
Specialized Diagnostic Tools
Our proprietary SCMA and ESEA assessments go beyond audits to measure the foundational drivers of safety performance.
Our approach
We don't parachute in with generic templates. Every engagement starts with understanding your organization's specific operations, regulatory exposure, and culture — then we build solutions that fit.
We assess before we prescribe. Our proprietary SCMA and ESEA frameworks give us — and you — an honest picture of where your safety program actually stands.
Safety systems that look good on paper but fail in the field are worse than nothing. We design for how your operations actually run, not how they're supposed to run.
We don't create dependency. Our goal is to build systems your team can own, operate, and improve — with documentation, training, and workflows that outlast the engagement.
When regulators show up or litigation arises, our work holds up. We build defensible programs and stand behind them — including as expert witnesses when needed.
